Amusement parks in Europe

When we travel, we are almost always with our children. They enjoy the excursions, but like any child, they want something fun for themselves too, not just castles, museums and mountains.

That's why we plan a visit to an Amusement Park on every trip. They are not just a place for adrenaline – they are an experience, no matter how old you are. From extreme roller coasters to fairy-tale zones for the little ones, each park has its own atmosphere and character. Some impress with record-breaking attractions, others with themed worlds, shows and impeccable organization.

We have visited several parks so far and I will tell you a few words about them.

The list for now is as follows:

  1. Gardaland, Italy

  2. Europapark, Germany

  3. Dalmaland, Croatia

  4. Prater, Austria

Gardaland, Italy

Gardaland is one of the most popular amusement parks in Europe and undoubtedly the most famous in Italy. Located next to the beautiful Lake Garda, the park combines adrenaline, themed areas and attractions for all ages.

Tickets - online tickets are only for people with an Italian mobile number. Unfortunately we were unable to use it and purchased tickets on site, the price difference is obscenely large.

The queues - we have so far gone during peak season in the summer, but always on a weekday. The queues are a maximum of 30 minutes, but this time passes quickly and is perfect for a breath of fresh air and a break.

The park is relatively large, but it is open from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. and one day is actually enough and you don't need to buy Skip the line tickets.

At the entrance you can get a paper map of the park , which is convenient for quick orientation, especially if you are planning which areas to visit first and how to avoid unnecessary wandering.

Among the most impressive roller coasters are Raptor and Blue Tornado, which bring a serious dose of speed and emotions. In addition to the extreme facilities, Gardaland also offers calmer attractions suitable for families with children, as well as themed areas with a fairy-tale atmosphere.

Gardaland has its own hotel area. The complex includes themed hotels such as Gardaland Hotel, Gardaland Adventure Hotel and Gardaland Magic Hotel. The hotels are mainly aimed at families with children, with themed rooms and packages that often include entrance to the park. Staying there is convenient, as you are within walking distance or a short shuttle ride to the entrance.

The park has parking, which is paid and the price is separate from the entrance ticket.

Public transport – the easiest way to get there is by train to Peschiera del Garda station, which is on the Milan-Venice line. From there, there is a bus (line LN026) or taxi to the park, the journey takes about 10–15 minutes.
